In a fine home, the kitchen has quietly become the most demanding room to design well. It must perform like a professional workspace and look like part of the living space it now opens onto. A luxury modular kitchen design has to reconcile both — and at Anusha Shetty Designs, that reconciliation is exactly where our work begins. We design kitchens for villas, bungalows and high-floor residences across Bangalore and Hyderabad as bespoke, engineered, beautifully made spaces, not catalogue installations.

Why “modular” should still mean bespoke
Modular kitchens earned their reputation on convenience, but at the luxury end the word should mean something more: a system engineered around your home, not your home squeezed into a system. We design every run, island and tall unit to the millimetre, then manufacture it ourselves. The modular discipline gives you precision, serviceability and clean lines; the bespoke approach gives you a kitchen that fits your ceiling height, your appliances and the way your family actually cooks.
The island as the centre of the room
In most of our projects the island is the anchor — for preparation, for gathering, and for the visual weight of the room. We design it in fine stone, often a dramatic marble or quartzite, with a waterfall edge and integrated seating or storage. Around it, the working runs are kept calm and uncluttered, so the island can do the talking. It is the single element that most defines a luxury kitchen.
Stone, cabinetry and finishes
Material is what separates a premium kitchen from an ordinary one. We work with hand-selected stone for counters and backsplashes, fine veneers and lacquers for cabinetry, and brushed brass or blackened metal for detailing. Tall units in book-matched veneer, a concealed pantry, and a backsplash carried floor to ceiling in a single slab turn the kitchen into a designed room rather than a utility. Because we run our own design and build workshop, these finishes are crafted to fit, not bought to approximate.
Engineered for how a luxury kitchen is used
Beauty in a kitchen is short-lived without function. We plan the working triangle carefully, specify quality hardware with soft-close everywhere, and integrate premium appliances flush into the cabinetry. Concealed storage, dedicated zones for cooking, washing and prep, and considered ventilation keep the room calm in daily use. In homes that entertain, we often design a discreet secondary or “dirty” kitchen so the main kitchen stays pristine.
Lighting and the open-plan connection
Today’s luxury kitchen usually opens onto the dining and living space, so it must be lit as a room, not a workspace. We layer task lighting under cabinets and over the island with architectural and accent lighting that lets the kitchen sit comfortably alongside the spaces it adjoins. On dimmers, it shifts from a bright working kitchen by day to a warm, intimate backdrop for the evening.
Designed and built end to end
As a turnkey atelier, Anusha Shetty Designs handles the kitchen from concept and drawings through manufacturing, installation and final detailing — and coordinates it with the rest of the home so finishes and lighting carry through. We work across Bangalore and Hyderabad; completed projects are in our portfolio.
Frequently asked questions
What makes a modular kitchen a luxury kitchen?
Bespoke joinery engineered to your space, fine stone and veneers, integrated premium appliances, considered lighting and a statement island — all made and installed to a high standard. The “modular” is the engineering; the luxury is in the materials and the craftsmanship.
Do you manufacture the kitchen yourselves?
Yes. We are a design and build atelier with our own production, so the kitchen is drawn, made and installed by one team — which is what keeps the fit and finish precise.
Can you design a separate utility or second kitchen?
Yes. For homes that cook and entertain heavily, we often design a secondary working kitchen so the main kitchen stays a showpiece.
