Luxury Master Bedroom Interior Design | Bangalore & Hyderabad

The master bedroom is the most private room in a fine home, and the one that rewards careful design the most. It is the last space its owners see at night and the first they wake to — which is precisely why a luxury master bedroom interior design is less about display and more about atmosphere. At Anusha Shetty Designs, we treat the master suite as a personal retreat: bespoke, serene, and quietly indulgent, designed around how its owners actually live.

Across our Bangalore and Hyderabad projects, the master bedroom is rarely a single room. It is a suite — bedroom, dressing, wardrobe and often a private lounge or bath — composed to feel like one continuous sanctuary. Here is how we approach it.

The suite as a sequence of spaces

A truly luxurious master bedroom is planned as a journey rather than a box with a bed in it. We study the threshold from the rest of the home, the path to the wardrobe and bath, and the way morning and evening light move across the room. The result is a layout where everything has its place: a calm sleeping zone, a generous dressing area, and a seating nook that invites you to slow down.

In larger residences this sequence can include a private balcony, a reading corner framed by a view, or a freestanding bath beyond a glazed partition. The discipline is to keep it uncluttered — luxury here is space, not stuff.

Bespoke beds, headboards and joinery

The bed is the centre of gravity, and we design it as such. A bespoke upholstered headboard in textured fabric or leather, a feature wall in fluted timber or three-dimensional panelling, and integrated bedside detailing turn a standard bedroom into a designed one. Because we are a bespoke design and build atelier with our own manufacturing, every piece is drawn for the exact dimensions of your room, so nothing feels bought off a shelf.

The walk-in wardrobe as quiet luxury

For most of our clients, the walk-in wardrobe is where everyday luxury is felt most. We design dressing rooms with considered storage — soft-close drawers, glazed display cabinets, integrated lighting and a dedicated island for accessories — finished in veneers, lacquer and brass. Glass partitions keep the wardrobe visually connected to the bedroom while preserving its order. It is one of the most personal parts of the suite, and one of the most rewarding to get right.

Lighting and materials for rest

Bedroom lighting should never be a single bright source. We layer it: soft architectural cove lighting to wash the ceiling, a sculptural pendant or chandelier as the room’s jewel, bedside reading light on its own circuit, and warm accent light to model the textures of the walls. Everything sits on dimmers, so the room can move from bright to deeply restful at the turn of a dial.

Materials are chosen for warmth and tactility — timber, stone, wool, linen and the occasional velvet — in a palette of deep, restful neutrals. The aim is a room that feels enveloping rather than showy.

A palette built for calm

Ultra-luxury bedrooms tend to be quiet in colour. We build them on warm taupes, charcoals, soft greys and ivories, then introduce richness through texture and material rather than loud hues. Where colour appears, it is deliberate — a dark timber, a bronze detail, a single deep accent. This restraint is what makes a master bedroom feel timeless rather than dated by a trend.

Designed and built end to end

As a turnkey luxury design and build atelier, Anusha Shetty Designs takes the master suite from concept and drawings through bespoke manufacturing, on-site execution and final styling — under one roof, in both Bangalore and Hyderabad. You can see completed homes in our portfolio.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a master bedroom feel luxurious?
Considered proportion, a bespoke bed and headboard, a well-designed walk-in wardrobe, layered lighting and a restrained material palette — all executed to a high standard of craftsmanship. Luxury is in the calm and the detail, not in excess.

Do you design the wardrobe and bathroom along with the bedroom?
Yes. We design the master suite as a whole — bedroom, dressing, wardrobe and bath — so the spaces flow together and the detailing is consistent throughout.

Do you work in both Bangalore and Hyderabad?
Yes. We are a turnkey atelier with studios serving both cities, and we handle the project from design through to handover.
